Wimmera Greening Australia partners with AXIS Worx

April 14, 2016

Wimmera Greening Australia have partnered with AXIS Worx to initially assemble 100,000 tree guards to assist with their re-vegetation program. This forms part of two major roll out projects which are the Alcoa 1 million trees and Federal Government 20 million trees program.

These guards that are currently being assembled by the Supported Employees at AXIS Worx will assist with the planting of 250,000 indigenous trees and shrubs across 270 hectares on private land.  The plantings will form part of a network of wildlife corridors between the Grampians, Little Desert and Big Desert National Parks.  Greening Australia along with an alliance of partners are prioritising works that facilitate the movement of species between core areas of habitat as part of their Habitat 141 initiative.
